Newsletter - November 2010

As the holidays approach, we will be cooking and baking recipes from some of the best chefs in town.  Some of these recipes are truly inspiring.

Since the holidays are a time for baking,  look for some pastry chefs on "Easy Baking with Lindsey".  The chef from Heidelberg Bakery made chocolate truffles with high quality chocolate.  A chef from Iraq, Kay Karim will be making cookies and will bring along a cookbook that she wrote "Iraqi Family Recipes".  Kay is now working on her second cookbook. It will be a very extensive with more family recipes.  Below is a preview of several pictures from her upcoming cookbook.  The cookbook will be available early next year so be sure to look for it.

                                                 3) Bottom Left...Okra with Lamb Chops
                                                 4) Bottom Right...Stuffed Zucchini

Many more good pastry chefs will be on the upcoming shows to help us celebrate the Holidays.

I returned from a trip to Ireland and Scotland recently.  Both Ireland and Scotland were beautiful and the food was fresh and tasty.  In Ireland restaurants have plenty of Potato Leek Soup on the menu.  I took a tour of the Guinness Beer Brewery in Dublin.  It was so enjoyable.  Afterwards, I had Irish Stew made with Guinness Beer.  It was delicious.  Below is a picture of the Irish Stew.  The stew has mashed potatoes on the top.

Happy Holidays,
Lindsey
